It will be quite interesting to see how these assets will be devaluated in the future when we finally roll off IPv4 (if we ever do). Besides the direct technical benefits of having so many addresses Amazon also potentially holds billions worth of assets that will eventually devalue and devalue quite extremely that they could write off for tax purposes. IPv4 addresses will continue to appreciate in value until their collapse which means that Amazon might be able to write off tenfold than what they paid to acquire them in the first place. |
