How will the decline in need for technical skills will affect internet cultures?

I feel like in the past, software jobs like programming, IT and academic fields like computer science, created some identity -- these fields required deep understanding of technical details, which attracted a specific type of people, and thus allowed a certain type of culture to be created, what's called the hacker/nerd/geek culture -- and now in the age of ai, this technical knowledge is much less relevant. What will happen to this culture?

In the 90s, anyone that knew HTML could get a six figure development job.

Within a decade, this changed, and you needed a new skillset (people that didn't change were out of work).

It's the same with AI. It automates a portion of the job. To stay relevant, you need to get good at the parts it doesn't automate.

I guess so, but nowadays it seems like technical knowledge might be less relevant in the future. It's not just the scale of the work or adding new skills to the (super)skillset, but the skillset itself which will be different. Having ideas might be more relevant than having the technical ability to implement them.

my question is, I think, what will happen to cultures based around having technical (mainly programming apparently) skills?

But on the other hand, perhaps people having these abilities is just a by-product of them wanting to implement their ideas. I'm really not sure.

I expect that the few people philosophically or empirically opposed to LLMs will retreat to un-advertised spaces with the retro computing hobbyists, and a few computer science academic refugees. In a few years, the uncreative nature of LLMs will have made business IT so median, so mid, that corporations will make great efforts to raid the all-human, more creative un-advertised spaces.
