The vast majority of crime happens in fiat, not crypto. Monero protects human rights while fiat allows them to be taken away.
For example, Canadian govt used banks to control peaceful protesters to deny them freedom of expression. If they used Monero they wouldn't have had their rights violated.

You're right regular transparent crypto is problematic because it makes kidnapping more common. That's why everyone should use privacy coins like Monero because they don't want to go shouting their bank account balance and every purchase they've ever made every time they make a purchase.
We shouldn't spy on everyone to prevent crime, that's like putting everyone in jail and making them prove they are good people to get out or making people accused of committing a crime forced to prove their innocence beyond doubt.

I absolutely care. Classical money system has regulations that make crime like ransomware or (physical) kidnapping impractical. Cryptocrap enables them. The entire ransomware field became possible _just_ because of it.
