100s of donors were stiffed of greater than half the money they put into their crowdfunding for the phones, and the jolla folks were all like 'be happy we gave you any back' and then went on to pour the investors' money into other failed projects.

I think an organic way if they really wanted to make a difference is to truly open sources if SailfishOS 100%, in the same time to use the OS and some of specialised componenta for automotive and contractual business projects (lile google, telegram, HashiCoro, you name it). Sell devices, etc.

Benefits: they would skyrocket in popularity and code quality without increasing the team and maintenance cost.

This way I would contribute to it with my money and time!
