I applaud everyone who just tries a different device than Apple. Of course, it will require some adjustments, and Apple will not support you by any means to have that non-Apple device play nice with their ecosystem, but on a broader scale it will be for the better. Especially the mobile device market in North America is in a quite unhealthy condition, with iOS making up >54% of the mobile device market (and over 90% of the value) it's almost impossible for a competitor to rise to the level of Apple. We should be able to choose between at least 2-3 equally-healthy brands, and yet we can't, thanks to one company curating that perfect walled-garden... |

Even if said app exists on both platforms, you'd have to buy it again.
