Anecdote is not the plural of data. Every poll shows all these things are wildly unpopular among the general public, and very unpopular among Republicans. It's nearly impossible to define "Trump's base" with any rigor, so no statistics are ever going to directly address that. The sites you read are either dominated by a few loud minority voices, or are just echo chamber bubbles disconnected from the broader reality of how people feel. ...Well, actually, there's another possible explanation: the people on those sites may feel they need to continue to signal their allegiance to Trump, or lose support/connection from the other people there. Regardless, your personal experience does not outweigh numerous polls conducted by institutions across the political spectrum. |
