Please give me feedback on my new music discovery app
3 points by Solance 531 days ago
I recently built and released an app called Solance that is essentally a social media app for music sharing and discovery. You invite and follow your friends on the app and then in your feed you see what songs they have been listening to recently in your Solance feed. You can then interact by liking and commenting on songs, and also saving them to your Spotify. I would love some people to try it out and offer any feedback or criticisms they have! It would help a lot! The website is https://solance.app

Downloaded it, tried it and immediately uninstalled it. I'm not sure why you need my birthday or my gender identity. I also think that it's silly that you need to have friends using it to use it. There's no way I'm inviting friends to use an app that I can't really use until I've already invited friends.
We need date of birth due to age requirements of social media unfortunately.

As for requiring friends to use it, we are very early stage at the moment and don't have enough content to populate the feed of users without populating it with their friends' content. But I definitely appreciate the feedback thank you!

Looks nice. What did you use for the frontend?

But if I have to be nitpicky, just check on the responsiveness, make sure it fully responsive and adapts well on various screen sizes. For example, it looks a bit funky on the mobile. Your call to action is a bit left of center.

Hope it helps.

Sorry I don't use Spotify. But the website is pretty cool!

One small thing: I had an issue with animation in "Explore other music profiles" section. I use Firefox 133

Oh random I'll definitely look into it thank you!
My advice:

1. Drop social media.

2. Curate music by hand.

This is to first build a user base who find the app useful for music discovery.

Then you can figure out what users want.

Good luck.
