I thought that GPT2 was smart enough and had enough knowledge to be considered AGI, it just needed a bigger working memory, a long term memory*, a body, and an objective function to stay alive as long as it can. And I still think this. Current models are waay smart and knowledgeable enough. * or rather a method to store new facts in an easily recallable way |

[1] we can’t really know how close or far that is, this is an unknown unknown. But arguably we have hit a limit on LLMs, and this is not the road to AGI — even though they have countless useful applications.
