48V and steer by wire already exist in other cars. Audi, Porsche, Mercedes, Renault, Kia, Hyundai all have 48V cars. Some of those are several years old. The Toyota bZ4X and Lexus RZ 450e are fully steer by wire.. and Silverado EV and Hummer EV use it for the rear steering. All of those are on the market.. The bZ4X is from 2022. Edit: I looked up the data can bus changes for the cybertruck... that's not new either. Look up "Automotive Ethernet" |

Those all still have a 12V system as well.
