It’s important that stolen iPhone parts remains worthless imo. I don’t want my iPhone stolen

Yes, that would be a good idea™ but I don't think that's conflict. Apple had uses all sorts of excuses and technical limitations to prevent repairs including parts pairing.

The solution is there need to be parts available for reasonable prices in the first place. There are no reasonably priced parts for iPhone Pro 13 and onwards. My friend's cell phone repair chain has lost a lot of business because they can't fix many types of Google Pixel, Samsung, or Apple devices for reasonable prices.

This is something the repair shops don't want to admit. When the customer comes in, they want their laptop fixed in a few hours. If the shop doesn't have the part available, will the customer want to wait a week for it to be ordered? No, the customer would leave. The repair shops want to be able to use whatever cheap part they have on hand because it gets the customer out the door.
so have a webservice available. a serial number for some display can only be activated once. allow as many thirdparty displays as people want, a real one can only be activated once.

but no, apple has different motives of course, and they feel like lying to their very naive users. Why wouldnt they? the reality distortion field is as strong as ever
