Very, very interesting. I loved how they added a disclaimer at the beginning of the video :) — a disclaimer to try to soften the rude tone of all the rest.

Don't get me wrong: I believe each company has the right to demand office work from their employees if the leadership deems that necessary. The leaders own the risk, so it's their job to decide if they will destroy their employees' flexibility and ask them to spend 1-3 hours of commuting daily.

It's then the employee's right to look for another employer if they believe their current one is not right for them anymore. This is absolutely normal and happens daily: employees evaluate their current role, together with all the pros and cons, and make their call. Videos like that one are just a catalyst for such a process.

That's how capitalism works for both parties. And nothing better, or more efficient, has been developed yet. All the other attempts failed miserably. We decide to sell our labor in exchange for an amount of money and perks. Once we dislike the balance - we move on. By the way, the same is the situation at the other end: the employer evaluates us, and if they believe we're not suitable for them anymore, we get "the envelope."

In Australia at least this has been challenged in court; other organisations have already signed deals with unionised workers to grant this concept (working from home)

This is hardly the first thing that people have said employers have the right to do, that later they lose, giving rights to the workforce.

I'm sure this idea will catch on in America eventually, right after the metric system, and universal healthcare /s
