i think the opposite. ita shocking people do consider it genocide. israels target is not civilians. if it wanted to, the death toll would be 100x. even more, you don't get a breakdown of civilians to hamas casualties so everyone thinks they are all civilians.

on the other hand, you did see hamas kill, rape, mutilate and kidnap (still didn't release the majority) and state they want to kill all jews. that... sounds like genocide.

Genocide has a very specific meaning and you don't have to kill a single person to be committing it. Whether that applies to Israel in Gaza I couldn't say as IANAL. I would hazard no. However, it might be yes - they are levelling the city and leaving the people alive and that could count as destroying the culture.
