Wait, is "Guy Fawkes Night" the night of the fourth with "celebrations" commencing at midnight, or the dusk of the fifth? The article is failing to load, though I hate to cast aspersions on the sysop since I'm once again posting from a fortified compound beneath the Earth routed through seven proxies, unclear which specific day it is as the barista glares that I may drink up all the water. |

I suppose you could call the night of the fourth november around midnight as 'Guy Fawkes Eve'. <grin>
Sadly, we've lost all those fireworks that used to be so much fun on that night. Notwithstanding the loss of sight and a few fingers that often occurred.
It was the only way way we could play with explosives as kids. (Until some friends and I as 12-year-olds raided a quarry and discovered the joys of gelignite and detonators, but that's another story.)
