Surprising -- until you look at what they eat. Rural people often eat /food/. They may eat too much, with too many calories and too much fat, but it is food. Eggs, bacon, pancakes, sausage, gravy, steak, potatoes, corn, beans (geez I'm getting hungry).

City people might eat the same calories, but it's hyperprocessed HFCS-based "food".

Where do you get this information? As someone who has lived rural before going to a city I can assure you there is plenty of prepackaged junk to be found. Actually it wasn't until I got to a city that I had real access to high quality healthy food. Also the city has more opportunity for moving about. Even just going out to places gives more opportunities to walk and move yourself. Whereas being rural you just drive everywhere
I don't understand where this idea could have come from. Both sets have access to junk food, and you can buy "real" food in cities of course.
