If anybody working on this, is reading this: please think of the option to put rear few mirrors or rear view cameras on these screens, so we can get finally rid of the “normal” mirrors.
Normal mirrors don’t break, so why introduce single point of failures in a currently distributed system? My cars last 8-10 years, while my tablets last 3-5. Unless the new, fancy stuff is swappable there’s going to be a whole lot of dead glass driving about the highways. And without the tactile feedback of traditional buttons it’s bloody difficult to turn things on/off without looking down.
