This is easy to fix. Call your credit card company and tell them you canceled, and the company refuses to refund you. Don't mention anything about the "terms of service", just say you were ripped off.
Where is the rip off? The company provides a 14 day free trial, it's all over their pricing page. https://www.copper.com/pricing The customer made a conscious decision to select an annual plan (contract) which is charged at a lower price every month.
If I sign up a mobile phone contract or gym membership and try to cancel in the first week it's not refunded either. Sucks but it's not an automatic rip off.
They're charging him for a product he's not using, so all I'm saying is if they won't take care of it, complain to the credit card company. I don't care what plan he picked... he's not using it.
