Wow. So here's a thought...maybe he was trying get ahead of all of this by making a bid for Twitter, in order to squash stories and control the narrative, knowing that this would all come out?
yeah, because trying to buy out a billion dollar company in a take over that will take months to complete is a great way of getting ahead of something like this. makes total sense
the entire media doesn't like him, do you think not being able to post on twitter is going to prevent them from disseminating any potentially bad info on Musk?
Will it stop CNBC, CNN etc etc from doing their reporting?
So he’s either paying for a $43 billion distraction or a $1 billion distraction, depending on whether or not he actually wants to own Twitter…?
If the idea was to throw money at these allegations until they go away, Musk could have just paid her $250 million to shut up, and he’d still be getting a deal. Not to mention that taking a suitcase of cash to a parking garage is probably simpler than hitting up Morgan Stanley for $20 billion.
And honestly I don’t think Musk cares enough about sexual assault allegations to put that much effort into trying to avoid them.
It's not even the girl the accusations came from talking to the NYT, it's her friend... So this is hearsay, with no direct evidence. Then, you have the assumption of guilt, while a settlement means no such thing, it just means they paid her to go away and shut up. I mean, he probably did do it, but that doesn't change the fact that these are unfounded rumors without evidence or even firsthand testimony being thrown around.
