Great read! Minor nit - shouldn't they be called 'road trains'? The other kind are also land trains, no?

They are different from road trains- these were built to drive through untracked wilderness. Wikipedia calls them ‘overland trains’ Road trains were invented in Australia to haul livestock and general freight on their long, empty roads

"Road train" is a monicker for multi-trailer semis. These are quite common in Australia. In North America we sometimes see doubles, but I don't think they quite qualify for the name.
Last year I drove up I5 and counted at least 20 triples!
In Aus they can be up to 5 or 6, 120 wheelers. And I think they might be driven by kangaroos. I could be wrong about that part.
