Literally zero media mention of the fact that this protest evolves out of Rotterdam dockworkers strikes and protests ongoing for past 72 hours, threatening massive disruption to European logistics across the entire Rhineland and beyond.

They don't want it known how much power blue-collar workers (who are primarily unvaccinated) really have. "It's just some kids who want fireworks, guys, it can't change anything. Now, as we were.. Covid papers, please! Jetzt deine papiere, bitte! Schnell!!"

I live in Rotterdam and have been following the riots (these were NOT protests) closely. The rioters consisted mainly of football hooligans and youths with a migration background.

This had nothing to do with anything other than taking the frustration about the 2G approach to the pandemic and the announced ban on fireworks on New Years Eve to the street. The destruction of public and private property is immense. Are you sure you want to blame the dockworkers for that?
