Possible? Yes. More work? Also yes.

You have to eat way more tofu, beans, eggs, etc. to get the equivalent amount of protein in chicken, steak, pork, etc.

Most people I know that eat 0.8g protein per lb of body mass use protein supplements to achieve such a high protein intake.
Tablespoon of peanut butter really isn't any more work. It's probably less.
