FAANGs/multinationals have offices in Europe. Even more rarely they have them in Asia/Oceania. Outside that, the happy developers I know are self employed as consultants or own app businesses. There’s also video game studios around the world in many places other software companies don’t exist. I think this is a very interesting trend but not sure if it pays well. |

(You could be a gaming millionaire by e.g. being a very early employee at a studio with a casual mobile gaming hit ten years ago, but those are definitely exceptions.)
