Game development mostly pays quite poorly in comparison to other software eng, especially when considering the stress level of typical expected unpaid overtime. It’s a buyer’s market: companies have their pick because so many people are passionate about the field. (You could be a gaming millionaire by e.g. being a very early employee at a studio with a casual mobile gaming hit ten years ago, but those are definitely exceptions.) |
