Legal behaviour but scummy behaviour.

Should big tech be deciding who gets a free trial?

Please stop saying things like "big tech" like it is a single entity, these are companies and the question is, should a company get to decide who uses their platform for crowdfunding.

Many of us here build things, and I know I personally feel that I should have a right to choose how my companies services are offered, I don't want my platform to be used to support hate, racism, sexism, etc.. And frankly anything that would damage our brand by association.

I feel like that people seemingly are confusing commercial services provide by companies with something they have a right to.

Politically, they could almost be considered a single entity.

Look at where corporate donations, corporate PACs, and employee donations go to. It's almost a one-party chart.

Not to mention their "in-kind" contributions. Banning one political viewpoint or candidate, while using your tech platform to boost another is clearly a contribution with massive monetary value.

Well, I think in general, tech politically leaning more progressive makes a lot of sense, tech isn't dominated by those that are conservative by nature, tech in general is meant to change things, and not hold on to a conservative view.

As for "banning a political viewpoint", can you be more specific?

> tech politically leaning more progressive

I conclude, calculated from decades of experience, that is false.

I do find it funny, that you ask for citation, then to base your disagreement on your personal perspective. Do you have any supporting information aside from your personal viewpoint?

This link, though I wouldn't call it concrete, it does paint a supportive picture, that is more inline with my experience has been. I'm not sure where your decades were spent, but the general impression I've seen in both the west coast startup community, and in the larger tech companies is they are progressive.

GoFundMe isn't big tech
