Well, I think in general, tech politically leaning more progressive makes a lot of sense, tech isn't dominated by those that are conservative by nature, tech in general is meant to change things, and not hold on to a conservative view.

As for "banning a political viewpoint", can you be more specific?

I conclude, calculated from decades of experience, that is false.

I do find it funny, that you ask for citation, then to base your disagreement on your personal perspective. Do you have any supporting information aside from your personal viewpoint?

This link, though I wouldn't call it concrete, it does paint a supportive picture, that is more inline with my experience has been. I'm not sure where your decades were spent, but the general impression I've seen in both the west coast startup community, and in the larger tech companies is they are progressive.
