Genesis 1:28:

> And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

This is foundational Judaism/Christianity, and is the evident subtext behind many of the movements that have led to its dominance. To wit: the Crusades, conquistadors, manifest destiny, catholic missions, modern evangelism. Domination and exploitation are consistent principles embedded within the culture and religious framework.

I'm not the person who asked, but I think their point would be that "being fruitful, multiplying, and dominating" are just natural human tendencies which religion was aiming to justify and did not create.

I mean, we know of a lot of domination and exploitation that happened before judeo-christian religions had come into place, or that happened in places free of their influence. The Bantu peoples massacring most of the population of the southern half of Africa comes to mind.
