Thanks for poking around to find more info on Juicebox. We are explicitly not trying to replicate Tableau (or PowerBI) functionality. We've heard people asking for something that is simpler, lightweight, and more focused on the presentation and explanation of data. In contrast, those tools are focused on deep-dive analysis and exploration. It is kind of like the difference between PowerPoint and Excel.

I think the overview video should appear on the landing page. A GIF showcasing color changing capability is less impressive.

Also, I'm not saying you should replicate Tableau or PowerBI. I'm saying they can do pretty much what you do (based on what I see in the videos), i.e., generating a report containing a bunch visualizations and explanations. Is the main difference being more lightweight (and possibly cheaper)?

We want to differentiate in three way: 1. Yes, cheaper. I'd prefer to call it "more affordable". In particular, it shouldn't be expensive to share with lots of people. That's where those products will get you. 2. Rather than dashboards (where there is an emphasis on putting a bunch of charts on the screen at once), we think in terms of a narrative flow that combines visualizations with text and visual content. A lot of business users find Tableau and PowerBI to be too complex. We want to make something that is accessible to people who are familiar with Excel PivotTables, but don't want to feel like they need to become trained analysts. So we want the Juicebox authoring experience to be as easy as possible, and result in a professional-looking end product.

Thanks, this makes a lot of sense. I was coming from the angle of authoring expressivity, which would put Juicebox as a subset of them. But indeed, Tableau/PowerBI can be hard to get started and I can see the value of Juicebox in that regard.
