So I read the article, but I've seen claims like this before: some event correlated with a stock dive equals "proof" the event caused it, when it turns out some other news got announced like a quarterly result. Is that what's going on here?

I don't follow Snap well enough to know the cause of the dive, but they did release their first ever annual report as a public company this morning:

It's poorly disguised marketing for Kylie Jenner. Look at the "influence" she holds, wiping out $1.3B from Snapchat value! Wouldn't you want her to support your {thing}? Imagine how much value it would bring your product.
It probably isn't marketing for her as much as it's clickbait for bloomberg. I'm sure she doesn't mind the headlines regardless.
Why not both? Getting paid to make a clickbait headline to prop someone up as an influencer.

Although upon further thought - you're more likely to be right that it's just clickbait.
