I was reading your comment thinking to myself, “by these characteristics, a Mathematician would make a great President!” but then I read “must be a good orator” and all hope was lost.
No I said decent. A president will get a better than decent speech writer [1], but the writer doesn't make policy. The president has to have a distinct, clear opinion about policy, and a good writer makes it convincing and evokes an emotional response in the listener. And then a president makes the delivery.
