Its always been the case that a free market needs regulation to prevent it turning into a feudal state. Its just that wannabe feudal states have an interest in making the population think that regulation is bad and in the US at least there is less regulation on political lobbying than there should be.
The capitalist and free market mantra is correct but without a regulation and legal arm restraining its worst excess it breeds corruption and corruption is a concern of every system. |
