Overpopulation of planet Earth is not a serious risk. The consensus is that population will peak at roughly 11-12 billion sometime around 2100. [1] The real danger that most have yet to come to grips with is population stagnation/decline and the multitude of economic problems that come along with it. I'd be curious to know if there are any good books on the subject. It seems like this is something that we're going to have to figure out in our lifetimes.
