Scammy and spammy.

Where are the specs? Sure, you can get different storage sizes, that's nice. What about the internals? Screen size, resolution, and technology? Battery life? 3G data bands? Weight? Dimensions?

Has anyone reputable reviewed these?

The name and logo both look to be ripped off from http://humanized.com/enso/

The OP's account is brand new, and has already spammed it up a few times: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1177080

The Google cache for http://www.onedollargold.com/ is http://bit.ly/dALAt1 which is just a -wee- bit odd.

Spamalicious.

I've found a specs page:

http://enso-now.com/n/info.php

It looks as though the phone portion of the functionality is a complete after thought, using a dongle, which makes the device pretty much useless as a phone for everyday use.

Funny how the email address for returns is 'retuns@enso-now.com', I'm guessing they don't get a lot of returns :)

Their privacy policy is copied from here:

http://www.freemanbeauty.com/page.asp?id=377

The device has phone functionality but only with GSM networks, and does not have support for video calls. Our privacy policy is just standard, does it add a lot of value rewriting from scratch like 3000 words ? i did not know that. What do you find funny about our email address ? please share a good laugh with me. Thanks!
> The device has phone functionality but only with GSM networks,

It does eh ? From your own website, the specs page:

"GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz) via external micro USB dongle"

So, no you don't have phone functionality.

> does it add a lot of value rewriting from scratch like 3000 words ?

Does it add value ? No, but it means that you are not above infringing on someone else's copyright which in turn means that you seem to take a cavalier attitude towards ethics, which in turn reflects badly on your corporate attitude.

And when you're asking people to trust you with their money your ethics are important.

So, your privacy policy is not just 'standard' it is a rip-off.

> What do you find funny about our email address ?

It's RETURNS, not RETUNS.

Thanks!

edit:

And I just realized that your specs page is a rip-off of this apple.com page:

http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/

Trust me, mr. Legal Entity, that's one of the most stupid things you could have done.

Oh, and the rest of the website is a rip-off of:

http://www.uptailor.com/Dress-shirts-comprehensive/Fabric/fa...

I'm sure they're very happy about that too.

I think you are just a frustrated mind, that does not have any better reason to spend time. Again, the phone has GSM functionality, if you want to bought it is there for you to try. I did not infringe any copyright, the English language is free and i can use it as i want, i have freedom of speech as you. Our company is not a "corporate" as you call it, it is a startup and we are young guys, and you are just making your self look ridiculous acting like this. I would have expected comments about how to improve. not rude rants like yours. And thanks for let me know about that typo, i will fix it now, English is not my mother tongue anyway. Our spec page is inspired from the apple one, our whole website is differenet. Our company is called Enso Co. Ltd, snf not Mr Legal Entity, so please note it. You really like to spy other people's lifes. Do you have one on your own ? Uptailor.com is my customer. I am a web developer also, so there is nothing wrong with it. All developers recycle their codebase, you did not know that ? It is a pity. Thanks anyway for all your comments. They are precious. Albertp
So, after seeing you don't seem to care about ripping off bits and pieces of web design I figured there might be more to this, maybe you ripped off the design of your 'ensopad' too.

Look familiar ?

http://www.smit.com.cn/English/proDetail.asp?InfoId=126&...

To expound on that, http://phandroid.com/2009/08/18/smit-android-mid-560-gets-le... has the OP commenting that he's ordering a lot of the SMiT devices, and is in a "trading" business. I think we're looking at a reseller here, not a manufacturer, which would explain a lot of the confusion regarding the specs and shippability of the device.
Ripped off what ? that is the product i have rebranded and i am selling, please see http://www.ipadforums.net/ipad-general-discussions/291-tons-... . Thank you!
Hi, thanks for you comments. All the specs are visible in our website, i do not what's wrong with you, if something is not clear please just send an email to us at info@enso-now.com I advice you not to use the words Scammy and Spammy, because we are a legal entity, and i might taking legal actions against you, because you does not have any solid argumentation to call us spammy. Regarding the logo issue, i am getting tired of this, i hoped HN would give out smart comments for startups, not the way around. The Enso logo is already popular. Check it out on google with a simple research. Anyway i like it and i choose it. The Post has not been spammed, i stated clearly at the start of the post ( did you read it or you are just trolling here ? ) that we were double posting for a PURPOSE. Finally, regarding the google cache delirium with onedollargold.com, ( that's the blog of my girlfriend totally unrelated to enso-now.com ) what the heck does that mean ? it is a domain i own, i am a web developer too, i use that for testing, than ? you found a link? what is that nasty bitly stuff ? You look like as a teenager honestly. I hoped to get more serious feedbacks from HN. it is a real pity. Anyway thank you. Alberto
> I advice you not to use the words Scammy and Spammy, because we are a legal entity, and i might taking legal actions against you, because you does not have any solid argumentation to call us spammy.

I call you a scammer and a spammer, now please sue me.

My puppy is a legal entity too, that doesn't mean that I can't call it whatever I like and if you come here to hawk your product and you get called out on numerous flags that show that you are not exactly above board then you can either explain what's going on or you'll have to live with being labeled.

Your threat actually confirms more than anything else would that this is a scam, a real company would be able to dispel these doubts about the product in a very easy way.

You've ripped off a logo, copied the privacy policy for your website word-for-word with a few changes here and there to make it look original, that by itself is enough to put you in the 'suspect' category.

Next you seem to be unaware of standard naming conventions regarding the production of a device like this, you claim you are capable of shipping when in the normal course of events you'd be at least months away from that.

HN is probably the last place on the planet where you should come trying to hawk a product in this way.

I don't know who are you and where you come from, but your instruction level seems really insufficient, at least for what is regarding the web industry. Have you ever heard of serial entrepreneurship? actually this industry WORKS by duplicating sites and changing content according to the niche they are targeting. I do not know exactely of what you are accusing me, from my point of view, you have no clues and you are just defamating me and my business. It is a normal practice for developers to to reuse code and content, and editing it, of course. I did not steal any logo and i do not have anything to hide. I am just a couple of weeks away from being able to ship. I am not threating you, i just say that the word Scammy should not be used without serious proofs. You could disrupt my business do you know ? business could mean life sometimes. Please provide me your full name and contact info by mail at alberto.armandi@gmail.com. Thanks
> I don't know who are you and where you come from,

No, that much is clear.

> but your instruction level seems really insufficient, at least for what is regarding the web industry.

Boy, I really must have missed out on some education somewhere.

> Have you ever heard of serial entrepreneurship?

Yes, in fact I have. Let me guess, you're one of those ?

> actually this industry WORKS by duplicating sites and changing content according to the niche they are targeting.

Yes, but it does not normally do that by taking other peoples content and repurposing it, it does that by re-using your own content. Taking the specs page from your competitor and modifying it a bit, a logo here and a bunch of web template code somewhere else... It adds up you know.

> I do not know exactely of what you are accusing me,

I really can't help that...

> from my point of view, you have no clues and you are just defamating me and my business.

You and your business ?

No, I am not 'defamating' (what's that?) you, I'm telling you what I think of your business practice and since this is an open forum that's the sort of thing you have to expect.

This being HN I'm keeping it very civil, given the amount of funny vibes you are giving me, and your apparent lack of knowledge about your own product.

> it is a normal practice for developers to to reuse code and content, and editing it,

No, it really isn't. Especially not if that includes copying pages from your competitors websites.

> of course. I did not steal any logo and i do not have anything to hide.

Correction, you've taken lots of stuff, that logo is indeed suspiciously like the one that you use and you have lots to hide but you're not very good at it.

> I am just a couple of weeks away from being able to ship.

Hey, sorry, but not that long ago you wrote that you could ship 500 units in a week. Now we're several weeks off. And is that the version that contains a GSM radio or not ?

> I am not threating you, i just say that the word Scammy should not be used without serious proofs.

This is not a court of law and I think that scammy as an adjective more than applies to the kind of image you portray here.

> You could disrupt my business do you know ?

Possibly. If your business includes taking orders where you claim to be 'shipping product' when in fact you are at a minimum weeks and probably much more away from being able to do so I sincerely hope that I can stop people from sending you money before you are able to ship.

> Please provide me your full name and contact info by mail at alberto.armandi@gmail.com

Why, are you going to send me a complimentary free unit :) ?

Let me give you some free advice:

Leave this site alone, the people here in general are not going to fall for your scheme and if they do you are probably biting off more than you can chew.

Get yourself a nice fresh domain, pay a web designer a couple of hundred bucks to make YOUR logo and website for you and don't ask people to send you their hard earned cash before you are ready to ship.

If your businessplan revolves around taking pre-orders pretending to be in the shipping phase but actually still in ramp-up and you are not a large scale manufacturer yet then you are simply asking for trouble.

Boy, I really must have missed out on some education somewhere. > You can say boy to your little brother if if you have one,or to any child you meet on the street ( assuming police does allow you to do that, you know nowadays you cannot trust anybody on that street. Anyway that might be, i don't know your skills. > Have you ever heard of serial entrepreneurship? Yes, in fact I have.
