Why not just include a bid with your order? If you know you can get avocados for $2 each at the store near you, and you want to buy 10 near-ripe avocados, why not include a bid with your request? Eg. "I want to buy 10 near ripe avocados, can you do that for < $25 shipped?"

If they aren't listing prices, you should take that as an opportunity to haggle and get a deal.

I don't understand. Why place the order before confirming the prices? Why not just put it on the site and save the text? A service like this refusing to give me a price until an order is placed will make me a bit suspicious and leery from a consumer's perspective.

If you are really that price conscious, you probably shouldn't be using SF-based delivery services (or be living in SF) in the first place.

You say it's location-based, buuuuut... I entered in nothing but my out-of-area phone number (read: no location) and I was texted a price for some avocados. One hour later I got a completely unprompted text with a different price for the same number of avocados.

Otherwise, is it possible to get same-day delivery of these? I can easily get avocados in general for way cheaper at Costco, but getting ripe ones last-minute is always a time-consuming challenge...
