Wow, I'm hoping you misspoke here, but I'm a bit concerned by the way you confused people who are "mentally ill" with those who have intellectual disabilities. Also, this line is dangerously incorrect:

If you've ever taken respectful workplace training in the US, you've likely learned the difference between intent and impact.
