It'll be a while before it is cheaper than the hydro-electricity we generate here in Quebec.

But yeah, anywhere else it makes sense. Also wonder how cost effective it is in harsh climates where there is less sun.

But it never has to be cheaper than hydro-electric. ;)

It just has to be cheaper than pure coal/natural gas/etc. plants.

Well, it is never going to be cheaper than existing hydro-electric.

It could well be cheaper than installing new capacity.

Well I'm not sure about never. I'm sure it's going to happen someday, it's just going to take longer.
