Every hear of "fast, good, cheap: pick two" ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_triangle You manager won't tell you directly, but they're asking you for crappier code, faster. Give them what they want but also cover yourself by sprinkling the codebase with TODOs. And in your updates on tasks when you're done mention areas for future work not yet done. Most developers who churn out code tend to churn out bad code. Also I hate to say it but politics and image is a large part of any job. My honest advice would just be to find a new job where you're appreciated. |
