Exactly. If you want to be a privacy-focused competitor to reddit you can't count on users flocking to the service because of your ethics (unfortunately). Instead you have to focus on being the best experience for the user, and in addition be privacy-focused.

If it's harder to user your service or if it's a less satisfying experience, I'm not going to use your service.
