Given that corporate profits are at an all time high and are largely being hoarded instead of being invested (and thus not generating new jobs), it pretty much is free money. It's money that's only going to be spent and drive economic growth if given to a worker on minimum wage. If it gets creamed off as corporate profits it will just end up in one of the many ultra-high-net-worth sinkholes, like Manhattan real estate. As if that hasn't been bidded up enough. |
