As someone who tried to run such a service years ago, I mostly agree. Even the very best stories written through this method were troublingly self-inconsistent. On the other hand, they were often hilarious a well. We published a few anthologies of short stories written with this method here: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dap... The experience for writers was surprisingly rewarding, but the end result was not for mass consumption. Still, as a writing tool, it showed great value. |
