It's true that there are many challenges and threats the nation faces and that it would be a trivial exercise to attempt to enumerate them all. On the nuclear front today it would be impossible to intercept a barrage of ICBMs - it is a fact of life that some strikes in a barrage would go through - this is exacerbated by new delivery vehicles that can strike in under 40 minutes from across the globe. You are right to mention that this is just one of the many emerging challenges the nation is compelled to defend. |
