This is off-topic. But for anyone interested, the manga series "Jin", by Motoka Murakami has a very nice depiction of some of the health issues in Tokyo towards the end of the Edo period. The protagonist is a doctor trained in modern medicine, who gets sent back in time and we see his treatment efforts without modern equipment or medicines. |
