In the Army, we had people we called "Barracks Lawyers" who thought they knew everything about the UCMJ (military law) but just ended up screwing a lot of good soldiers with their bad guidance. The moral of the story is that you are likely to get a lot of bad advice here from non-legal types, so be wary of that.
