I've only read part of the article so far, but scanned it for the NSA's codename and am surprised it is not mentioned (there or here). They're describing SWAP [0].
Cool they Kasperksy now has binaries to reverse-engineer. What's impressive is the number of OSes and filesystems that are supported.
