Ok - I program in a software product company. Our business depends on getting out the best solution - not the fastest solution. It's definitely not a "hobby". Some businesses may requires "fast" solutions, but I would argue that most businesses would be better off with "the best" solutions. And, in any case, requirements of a certain segment of businesses shouldn't really qualify as "The No #1 Rule Of Programming". |
