My apologies if it came across that I thought CBT was not helpful; I simply meant that seeing a professional is going to be much more beneficial, particularly if you haven't before.

Personally, I didn't think you alluded to "CBT was not helpful". Your advice was seek a professional which I wholeheartedly agree.
Oh no, I didn't get that at all. It did sound like you were saying that only people with severe issues need CBT though. I think that every single person would greatly benefit from CBT training, just as I feel that they'd benefit from meditation, a healthy diet and a consistent workout routine.
Anxiety can be mild or severe. Many people with anxiety won't need to see a professional, or won't have easy access to a professional. And, once they've seen a professional they might be asked to use some computer or book based CBT anyway.

But you're right, seeing a professional is useful.
