She probably died within two years. As ars say above, falls in older people kill a lot of them within 2 years. If you're over 65 and have an unplanned admission into hospital you're probably not going to end up back at your home. Only about 1 in 4 people end up back in their homes. The others die or end up in nursing or care homes. (This is in England; it might be different in US, especially with the medicare distortions which mean much more money is spent on people over 65). |
