Is this a fabricated controversy to drive readers to medium? The author of the rebuttal is a medium employee, and the original article was utter drivel to begin with (and completely on trope: a grandparent quoting pseudoscience to explain biases about their grandchildren), written by someone with no audience.

Hi, I'm the author. I do work at Medium, but I wanted to respond to that post because it made me angry - nobody asked me to. And the person who wrote the original post is an investor and STEM advisor. I hoped my post had enough value despite the low quality of the original post, because lots of other people think like Hardaway. I really didn't expect many people to read it and have been surprised at how it took off.
