I've used StoryWorth. It's a great service and definitely not a social network. Your family members respond to questions via email with stories and the service stores them. Then they're safely stored. Great for older family members who don't really understand anything besides email.

Isn't their response already stored in your email?
It is indeed, which makes for a nice backup. In fact, a lot of our storytellers never visit the site, interacting with the service entirely over email.

It's still great to have a copy online for backup, editing, sharing with new family members (e.g. spouses), or ordering printed books.
