I can't believe that this post got upvoted 140 times on HN. Only one day left to 2015 and we have distribution networks, abroad datacenters. Are we still not able to build a system which doesn't require a loading screen? What a shame...

It's hard to fix slow clients that require tons of data and resources, but feed a desire for apps to do crazy things, and limited dev time. Trade offs have to be made somewhere, a loading screen at the beginning of an application is one of them.
