I would love to have remote work, but I am honestly unsure about whether I'm good enough at my job to enjoy it. My concern isn't with performing my current job, but every promotion/job change I've had has been because of the things I learned in some free time from somebody sitting next to me. It's so nice to be able to wander over to a smart person and ask about some random problem I've been having in an area in which they're an expert. I have no doubt I learn more in an office than I would in my living room. ...then again, that's probably why remote workers say they're more productive. |
