Would be very interesting to see a comparison of a typical 1961 operating budget vs a typical 2008 operating budget, to see where the differences are. My guess would be that the biggest differences would be for teachers' pensions and benefits, extracurricular activities, technology, facilities -- but that's just a guess. I can't imagine that they spend 3.5x as much on textbooks.. |
